Around 2,000 representatives from across Scotland will gather in Dundee on Saturday for the launch of the Church of Scotland Guild's new theme, 'He restores my soul'.

The theme is the latest under the strategy, 'Let's Live: body, mind and soul'. The day will be chaired by national convener Esme Duncan from Caithness.

Speakers include the Rt Rev David Lunan, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, who will speak of people who had been influential in his life and the need to nurture the spiritual side of one's life as well as the intellectual side.

The keynote speaker and noted author, Irene Howat, will tell of her Christian journey and how her disability has led to her career as a writer. She will also highlight those who have been examples in her life through a reflection on the 23rd Psalm.

The programme will include news and reports on aspects of the Guild's work, the most moving of which is set to be the report by the General Secretary, Alison Twaddle, on the Guild's impact and contribution towards raising awareness of the issue of human trafficking.
