The Book of Hope's Director, Bob Hoskins has announced that the Book of Hope will soon reach the 300 millionth child in the world. The event is expected to take place on 30th May 2005 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The book of Hope ministry of missionary and evangelist Bob Hoskins began in 1987, when the minister of Education in El Salvador asked him to provide Bibles to school children.

Hoskins started to distribute the Book of Hope, a storybook for children to reach school children in a way that could be more attractive for them. As a result, after 17 years of work, the milestone of 300 million books being distributed is very near.

The book of hope combines all four Gospel Books to tell the life of Jesus in chronological order. The publication includes study questions and provides children with a clear plan of salvation so they can accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.

The book is now available in 65 languages in several formats according to the age of children.

As Hoskins expressed, even though 300 million copies will be distributed, in fact the book has reached many more people: "About 90 percent of these books have been distributed in public school systems around the world in over 120 different countries. But, when the book is taken home, the parents read it, grandparents read it, (and) older brothers read it to little brothers and sisters. So, I think it's safe to say that probably nearly a billion people have become engaged in God's Word."
