Claire Connor and New York Times bestselling author G P Taylor have teamed up again for the second book in the Lipstick Confessions fiction series.

The Promise is launching on October 23 at the WH Smith store in Scarborough where the authors will be there to sign copies of their book.

The book tells the story of one man and two women - Lawrence, his wife Sarah who is desperate for a child, and her old friend Arima, a free spirit who believes she belongs to nothing and no one. When Arima comes to stay, she makes a promise to Lawrence and Sarah that puts their marriage face one of its greatest tests.

The story is based on the relationship between Abraham, Sarah and Hagar in the Old Testament and is a gripping story that explores the trials that can challenge marriage and friendships and the sometimes unexpected consequences of our actions.

It follows on from the hugely popular Rosie: Note to Self, the first of the Lipstick Confessions books and a contemporary retelling of the Old Testament story of Ruth.

The book launch will take place from 2 - 4pm at the WH Smith in Scarborough on October 23.
