The Scottish Bible Society has launched a new hi-tech resource to bring the Bible message alive for thousands of children across the country.

The massive Bibleworld SBS Studios trailer will tour schools and churches all over Scotland right throughout 2006, bringing the Bible right into the heart of Scottish communities, particularly many remote communities where both children and adults may not have much access to the Christian faith or Christian resources and events.

The giant mobile classroom, based mainly in Scotland, is designed to present God’s Word in a stimulating, ‘hands-on’ environment and builds on the success of the established ‘Bibleworld Experience’ at Bible House in Edinburgh and its predecessors.

The new outreach venture was described by the Scottish Bible Society as “the most exciting Bible educational resource yet” and will work in partnership with local churches.

The mobile classroom which is fitted out more like a film set, is designed to take up to 32 pupils from primary 5 to secondary 2 for a 75-minute lesson in which pupils will visit six different ‘sets’ including Plane, Spaceship and TV Quiz Show.

The Plane set is located in an extending ‘pod’ which is fitted out as part of an aircraft cabin where each set contains a built-in video screen.

The hi-tech mobile is fully interactive and will provide a stimulating environment in which young people can find out more about the Bible and its message.

Bibleworld SBS Studios can also be used by churches in the evenings as an outreach to the community.

The Bible Society is now seeking financial support to keep the 14-ton trailer on the road, after investing a massive £270,000 in the initiative.
