The highly popular MegaFest with Bishop T.D. Jakes has been cancelled for 2007, said a recent announcement by The Potter's House.

The celebrities, Christian artists and Jakes will not be coming to Atlanta next year for an event that has drawn up to 150,000 people a day. The fourth MegaFest will instead be held in 2008. The venue is yet to be determined.

Despite the cancellation of MegaFest 2007 - a revival event geared toward the entire family - The Potter's House will still hold For Men Only and For Ladies Only conferences next year, the announcement said. Both conferences are scheduled to take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

MegaFest is one of the largest Christian festivals in the nation drawing children, teens, men and women. The event launched in 2004 and has been a major success every year with corporate sponsors, celebrity and legendary guests and tens of thousands of attendants, mainly African Americans.

And this year, Jakes celebrated 30 years of ministerial service. At the celebration concert, Jakes shared the stage with actor Will Smith, former NFL greats Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith and legendary soul artist Arethra Franklin. Former president Bill Clinton also gave his congratulations in a taped message.

Details have not been released on why The Potter's House will not be hosting the festival next year. More details on MegaFest 2008, however, will soon be released.

I totally agree with the brother James in FL. This Mega Feast stuff has gone entirely to far. It is more of a show, similar to worldly events. They need the Holy Ghost in these conference and leave the worldly folk out!

Whoa. I didn't know they cancelled 2007's MegaFest. Why? I wonder why. Great site. Love the work.

This conference seems to have lost it's focus. It should've never have gotten to the point where it's a stopping point for celebrities and secular artists. Instead it should've been a place to build Christians up. With the name of it, I'm not exactly sure if it was ever really supposed to be a strictly Christian affair in the first place because of all the artist(s) that attend who are CLEARLY not Christian. I'm sure God has been dealing with T.D. Jakes about why this event needed to be cancelled.

Oh, there are no words to express how much I will miss attending Mega Fest in (07). I always planned my vacation from work during this time. My daughter and I, along with my granddaughter looked forward to this event each year, with excitement! And, I am sure this holds true for many others. JD Jakes is one of God's messengers who has blessed and helped to heal a NATION through the WORD OF GOD.

Although I know this conference would not be cancelled had Bishop Jakes and Prayer partners not consulted God and was given the Ok to cancel, I am definetly going to miss this conference. I was SO looking forward to being their. 2006 was my first year, and I really enjoyed it. Either way, I am sure My family and I will enjoy the one in 2008. Thanks for letting the lord lead you.

I was really looking forward to coming to the Megafeast 2007 with my children. I also wanted to plan a trip for the children in my church to go. I feel God want to reach more children today because it is to many crimes against children and they are also the ones that are doing the crime. I hope you will have a change of heart.

I attended MegaFest 2004 the first one, I received my deliverance at this conference. I would like to take my children and I guess now I'll have an extra year now to plan the trip. I am trying to relocate to Dallas, TX at this time because I feel that GOD wants me to be there.
