The UK Oil & Gas Chaplaincy will be holding its annual service of remembrance in the Kirk of St Nicholas Uniting, Union Street, Aberdeen on Friday 26 October 2007.

This ecumenical service gives those working within the UK Oil and Gas Industry an opportunity to remember everyone who has died over the years and who has been part of this industry, including those who have died as a result of tragic accidents offshore and onshore.

During the past 12 months a number of lives have been lost as a result of accidents/incidents within the UK Oil and Gas Industry. Other personnel have lost their lives offshore and onshore through natural causes.

The chaplaincy has been involved offering pastoral and spiritual support during and after many of these events.

The service will be conducted by the Rev Andrew Jolly, Chaplain to the UK Oil & Gas Industry, assisted by Deacon Brian Kilkerr of the Roman Catholic Church.

The address will be given by the Very Rev Gerald Stranraer-Mull of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
