World Vision relief efforts in Peru are continuing, as it is currently focuses on providing clean water, food and shelter.

The organisation has already distributed 27,000 thousand litres of water for 1,500 families in four urban settlements in the outskirts of Ica since the earthquake last week.

“The people of 'La Expansion' said that it was the first time they were getting water since the earthquake. Our support was a great relief for them. Each family got approximately 15 litres of water," commented Mauro Solorzano, a World Vision aid worker deployed from Ayacucho.

At the same time, 756 families received blankets, shoes, clothing and hygiene kits in Chincha and Pisco, and World Vision also delivered two water purifiers and 60 tents.
As of 21 August, World Vision had provided aid to approximately 2,900 families in Pisco, Chincha and Ica.

More food packages and hygiene kits are on their way to Pisco.

World Vision Peru is preparing a long term proposal to contribute to the reconstruction phase in Señor de Luren in Ica, Tupac Amaru and San Clemente in Pisco, and Tambo de Mora in Chincha.
